The team clocked 40.70 seconds, finishing 7th overall in the heats, setting the new National Record, and securing a place in the final. The final was held on August 9, 2026, and was won by Team USA, with Great Britain placing second and Jamaica third. 

'We have been working hard just for this’- Carter

Speaking after their record-breaking run, Carter said, “It was a good race. The main focus was to pass the baton around and try to get into the finals…We have been working hard just for this moment, so, I’m grateful.”

Jackson described the experience in Eugene, Oregon as “good”, revealing that this not only was his first U20 Word Championships but his last, adding, he is “proud” to represent his country

“It’s a good start off point for me,” he said. 

Pushed to the limit

Charles said competing in an “older” atmosphere, he has been pushed to his limits. “I like that,” he said. 

Meanwhile, the U20 World Championships is the biggest athletic competition Lennard-Joseph has participated in. 

He said, “It’s a lot different, but it’s great.” This is also his first and last U20 World Championships.
