VI's Alpha Dog Racing Crew sweeps Gold @Nevis Culturama 2026 Drag Races
Alpha Dog Racing Crew entered drivers in two competitive classes and walked away with gold in each. Cleteist A. Mathavious piloted the team’s Corvette C8 to victory in the 10-Second 1000 ft category, while Antoine K. Brewley, aka 'Sigma', drove the black Nissan R35 GT-R to a first-place finish in the 9-Second 1000 ft class.
Sweet revenge for Cleteist A. Mathavious
In post-race comments, Mathavious, the owner of Creative Arts, reflected on the significance of the win and the improvements made since the team’s last appearance in Nevis in May for WinFest.
“This time I’ve learned a lot more about the car. The car wanted to run this time; we actually had to slow down the car in the slowest mode to not break out [exceeding the speed for the class], but the other car was a really hard car to beat. That car was the one that cost me the win at WinFest back in May,” Mathavious, known to many as 'Andretti', said.
“Last time around I was sent home at third place, and I was upset about that. When I saw that it was him again, I was like, ‘I gotta get him this time.’ I was happy to come out with that win!”
'My passion since childhood'- Antoine K. Brewley
Local driver and owner of Sigma Automotive, a mobile automotive company, Antoine K. Brewley, celebrated a major victory after winning the 9-second 1000-foot class.
Brewley secured the win behind the wheel of the team’s Nissan R35 GT-R, adding another strong performance to his growing motorsports record. Earlier, he placed second in the 10-second quarter-mile class at SHIFT Happens in Antigua, where he competed in a Jeep Trackhawk.
For Brewley, the achievements reflect a lifelong passion for motorsports. He said his interest began during childhood, when he developed a fascination with building cars and eventually progressed to racing them. “Motorsports has been my passion since childhood, from building cars to racing them,” Brewley said. “Alpha Dog lets me turn that passion into results.”
'Just the beginning'
The young racer credited the team’s strong preparation, competitive vehicles, and commitment to improvement for its recent success, adding that the crew remains focused on developing its cars and strengthening its performance at future events.
“We have a strong team, competitive cars, and a commitment to keep improving,” he said. “This is just the beginning.”
