VI’s 4x400m relay team captures silver medal @ 49th CARIFTA Games

KINGSTON, Jamaica- The [British] Virgin Islands ended their impressive performance at the 49th CARIFTA Games in Kingston, Jamaica with a silver medal in the Girls U20 4x400m Relay Final on Monday, April 18, 2022.

The Quartet of Kaelyaah Liburd, Kenyata Grate, Akrisa Eristee and A’Keela McMaster ended behind Jamaica in a time of 3:45:67.

Eristee had given the VI team a good lead in the first leg but the Jamaicans fought back to win emphatically in 3:36.81.

Bermuda placed third in 3:48.69.

Earlier in the day, the VI’s Adaejah T. Hodge lived up to expectations by winning triple gold at the Games when she dusted the field in the Girls U17 200m.

The VI ended third on the medals table behind Jamaica and The Bahamas.

The VI won 4 gold medals, 2 silver and a bronze.

      Give the sports minister props for WHAT??? This kids did the without the help of government but with the help of their coaches, parents and the BVIAA.....Dean needs to continue to put pressure on them because the other countries like Jamaica, Bahamas, Trinidad & Barbados get help from their government.......come with something else because clearly you know nothing about what goes on in track and field...
