ROAD TOWN, Tortola, Virgin Islands- Mrs Violet Thomas-Gaul is the new President of the Rotary Club of Tortola.

Mrs Thomas-Gaul was installed as the club’s president on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in a ceremony at the Sugar Mill Hotel. 

In a statement to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, she said, “Taking up the presidency of our Rotary Club feels a bit overwhelming, but more than anything, I feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude.”

She also described knowing her fellow Rotary Club of Tortola placed their trust in her to lead as humbling. 

“I’m committed to serving with integrity, dedication, and a heart for our shared mission.”

Among immediate plans for the club under her tenure is the assessment of the viability of existing projects as the members commence work on their focus projects. 

She said more details will be shared soon. 

All in all, Mrs Thomas-Gaul said the Rotary Club of Tortola would like to “unite Rotarians for good in the BVI”. 

Other executive members

Others serving with Mrs Thomas-Gaul are Michael Killhoury (Vice President), Ellie Crespi (Secretary), Ian S. Smith (Treasurer), Selina (Sherry) O’Neal (Sergeant At Arms), Abigail O’Neal (Immediate Past President), Mitsy J. Ellis Simpson (President Elect Nominee), Mara O. Samaniego (Secretary Elect Nominee), and Coy W. Levons (Tresurer Elect Nominee). 

Serving as Directors are Ixora Wong (Foundation Chair), Robyn Sookraj (Club Admin Director). 

Other members include Kelvin Liburd (Community Service Facilitator), Milton Creque Jr (Membership Chair), Coy W. Levons (Public Image Director), Archibald C. Christian (Assistant to Director Kelvin), Mary Carmedy (Youth Service), and Abbi E. Christopher (Club Learning Facilitator). 

The executive will lead the Rotary Club of Tortola for the Rotary Year, which runs from July 2025 to June 2026.
