ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Leroy Peters, a Vincentian national, who used a machete on his girlfriend and male roommate in 2009, pleaded guilty yesterday Friday, December 9, 2011 before Justice Indra Hariprashad-Charles in the High Court.

In light of this, he will be sentenced on Monday, December 12.

Peters, who was expected to stand trial, is charged with two counts of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

According to court records, Peters and his girlfriend at the time were engaged in an argument during the evening of December 5, 2009.

He left the apartment and returned later the same day and was locked out, court records state. In a fit of anger, he allegedly burnt a few of his girlfriend’s clothes and as another argument began, he got a machete and started to hit her about her body.

Court records revealed that the Virtual Complainant (VC) ran into the bedroom of the roommate who was a male, and it is alleged that when he [the roommate] enquired what was going on, he unfortunately received some injuries as well.

He is represented by Colin Foster, a legal aid attorney from St. Lucia, who mitigated on his client’s behalf via video link yesterday.

He does not need to attend any anger management classes, because that is not going to do a damm thing for them. These Vinci men are too jealous and ignorant. To sand man who said that they should deport him before he gets his hands on a tolian. While I agree with you about the deportation, just remember he cannot get his hand on a Tolian unless they allow him to. Some women need to investigate some of these criminals they are falling for, because you dont know what kind of life they wear living back in the hometown.
