Village Cay Staff Excels in Local Hospitality Training Programme

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Staff persons of the Village Cay Hotel and Marina successfully participated in a two-week Adult Enrichment Host and Hostess Programme hosted by the VI Girl’s Brigade at Maria’s by the Sea Hotel and Conference Centre.

The Girl’s Brigade, along with the Premier’s Office, provided an opportunity for persons to participate in a comprehensive learning environment. There were several training segments offered, such as Event Planning, Menu Creation, Napkin Folding, Vegetarian Meals, and Table Setting. These segments were taught by local culinary experts, including Henry Prince, Wilford Stoutt and Franchette Cotton. 

The following staff of Village Cay: Marlon Williams, Bartender; Leasa Binns, Deli Manager and Sharon Forde, Waitress; shared in the rich experience and benefited from the seminar series. Staff participants stated that the programme went exceptionally well and definitely left a lasting impact on their future growth and development.

Sharon Forde, a waitress of Village Cay Hotel and Marina, said “The seminar segment was great. It inspired and empowered me to develop new skills and techniques to improve the service delivery and dining experience at Village Cay.”

The hard work and dedication of the staff from Village Cay Hotel and Marina was recognized at the awards ceremony. A certificate of completion was presented to each participant who successfully completed the seminar guidelines and requirements.

The company greatly appreciates the VI Girls Brigade and the Premier’s Office for providing the necessary training opportunities for local businesses, with the view of enhancing the quality of customer service throughout the VI.
