'Allow investigative & judicial processes'- Interim ACoP

The Interim Acting Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger stated, “We understand the level of concern this incident has generated within the community, particularly given the nature of the footage circulated. While public reaction is understandable, I urge members of the public to allow the investigative and judicial processes to take their course. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force remains committed to ensuring that matters of this nature are handled thoroughly, fairly, and in accordance with the law.”

Provocative is not justification to hit a woman repeatedly. Especially one who wasn’t fighting back. Something is wrong with you all.

There is a lot of scum in VirginIslands. It is disturbing that people are defending a man in his 30s for beating up a teenage girl. It shows a lot about your character if you defend this type of behavior. This reflects a deep, dark history in this territory of men violently abusing women, while others stay silent or make excuses. Nothing she did justified that kind of response. It was abuse, and excusing it only helps it continue.

You are so correct. Nothing excuses this behavior from a grown man. If he cannot control himself in situations of provocation such as this then it is not safe to have him in society with those of us who can.

This video is nothing new in the Islands. Alot of women get the slaps and get turned on from it. I will say these couples who fight all the time here just leave them alone because you might intervene and get attacked by both of them. It is sad though that they are that way. I agree that the child provoked the guy but it is my view that even though he was provoked his action went beyond a logical response. He should be punished for his actions.

I have not seen the video and not sure if I even want to see it at this point, but it is not OK for either party to engage in this type of behavior. I am a woman and I have sons. It's not about who you are, it's about what you do. We need to stop this double standard crap. Everyone needs to be held accountable for their actions.

The guy was wrong, yes, but y’all are excusing the girl’s behavior for provoking him.

She clearly was never disciplined and appears to be entitled.

So when she carries that behavior to another person again — maybe your family, friends, or law enforcement — I hope y’all see that her behavior needed correcting from early, but now it will become everybody’s problem, not just this guy’s.

There are a lot of entitled, rude young people nowadays — especially girls — just running amok. Look at ESHS when the teachers called out students for bringing drugs into school and being unruly. The parents cried out and got angry at the teachers in disbelief.

Now look at ESHS’ current conditions: metal detectors, knives, and drugs being brought into schools.

We spoil them, give them entitlement, and treat them like angels when some of them are wolves. Soon they will be integrated into our community, and we will reap what we sow.

We’ve already started reaping it — last year’s festival complaints with minors drinking, smoking, and dressing half-naked on the grounds. Y’all only now seeing the smoke, but that fire has been brewing a long time.

Spare the rod and you will spoil the child.
Neglect morals and you will get criminals.

That’s why we have a gang of high school dropouts forming gangs like Money Boys.

That’s why we have young girls and women getting caught up with criminals and assisting in money laundering, drug trafficking, and murders. SMH.

That’s why you have young women — some of whom were contestants in Miss BVI — now out here selling their bodies to criminals just to keep up a maintained lifestyle. SMH.

Really despicable how the uneducated and poverty minded individuals can hop up in the comments section and band together like a crone of fkn criminals. Iyo Issa fk. Yhh she was annoying. Yhh she should've sit somewhere else. But we dont know the dynamic. Why she wanted to sit that close to him. Maybe he was messing with her. Whose house is it? Why was he there alone with a minor who claims she aint have no relations to him? Why was she comfortable walking back in the house with a "stranger" after being beat instead of running and calling police? This story is incomplete but regardless shes a child.

His reaction was too damn extreme. Hitting and kicking that girl in her head could've given her a concussion or worse.

And for the judge who let him out...how incompetent are you fohrreal? Im tired of VI judges and the damn corruption. He needs to sit his bum sknt in jail since he have to live on people couch.
