Victor & Lindsay continue dominance in HLSCC College Classic Series

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- – With over 175 participants, Rowan Victor and Katrina Lindsay continued their winning streaks when race two of the Tortola leg of the Mourant HLSCC College Classic Race Series was held at Paraquita Bay, Tortola on Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Rowan Victor ran 11 minutes 50.16 seconds while defending champion Katrina Lindsay ran 12 minutes 39.36 seconds in the overall men and women open 2-mile to win the races respectively.

Leading the one-mile (U9 &U11) Boys and Girls Division respectively were Amauri Potter and Nae’veya Bruce.

Rotary Club of Tortola virtually secures title

In the Cross-Country Division: Service Club category, Rotary Club of Tortola (defending champions) secured their second win in the three-race series. Rotary Club of Road Town secured the second place spot, and a battle for final standings in third place is brewing amongst the other clubs.

In the Community Partners category, Digicel is now tied with Pelican Gate PTA as each team has won a race.

Race Director, Stephanie Russ Penn shared her excitement at the increased turnout and the continued momentum of the series and the opportunity for the College to partner with BVI Cancer Society and First Caribbean International Bank in support of their “Walk for the Cure” also held on Saturday.

Tortola finale on October 29, 2022

She also reminded all participants that the three-race series portion of the Tortola leg of the College Classics will see its finale on October 29, 2022, where the best two out of three races will determine the overall, age divisions and cross-country champions.

During this race the College will partner with the Rotary Club of Tortola in their “End Polio Now” campaign.

The final Tortola event will then be the Elite Relay Exchange in mid-November.

The Series returned to Virgin Gorda on Saturday, October 15, 2022, for race two.

    I love what the college is doing, especially with sports. Hope they get a gymnasium real soon.
    My daughter wouldn't shut up. Keep up the good work.

      That department that deals with the students is the best. They should model the whole college after that department. Put the students first and kill them with love.

        I wholeheartedly agree. I see that someone disagrees. That must be some bitter non-productive staff, and hlscc is loaded with useless staff and faculty. I can speak on it, having be treated like a fog by the administration, in particular Ms. Hamm in the Human Resources Department.
        Useless overpaid staff. Faculty running amuck, and a president who is friends with those who ????ing up.
        I pray that the ministry takes an extensive and in-depth look at the goings on. I will stop here, for if I continue in my rant, they will know who I am.
