Victor & Chiverton help Coach to top of wins chart!
The No. 10 Royals shot over 52% from the field in their home opener and got a big offensive performance from 10 of 12 players including Chiverton with 12 and Victor with 11.
The win improves the Royals season record to 2-0 and makes head coach Sean Hanrahan the all-time wins leader in Warner University men’s basketball history.
Victor also had seven rebounds in the 21 minutes playing time as well as 2 assists and 2 steals. Chiverton played 16 minutes, shot 4 of 6 field goal attempts, 2 of 4 3 pointers and was 100% from the free throw line. Victor was 3 of 7 from the field, missed both his attempts for 3’s and was 5 from 7 from his free throw attempts.
Chiverton, playing in his first game for the NAIA ranked team, also gave away a technical foul
In 2011-12, Victor saw action in 35 games, making 27 starts; he averaged 7.1 points per game, off of 249 for the season. Victor was third on the team in rebounds with 143, averaging 4.1 per game and he set career highs in total points in a game (19) and FG made (6) against the same opposition, Clearwater Christian College. His career high 10 rebounds came against Reinhardt (Ga.) on December 16, 2011 and Ave Maria (Fla.) in January of this year.
After the win, Coach Hanrahan recognized the win but found room for improvement. “It’s good to play a lot of minutes with a bunch of different guys early on but at the same time it can disrupt your chemistry or flow. I thought we had a great defensive start then we started getting impatient and started gambling a little bit.”
The No. 10 Royals will hit the hardwood the rest of the week in preparation for their NAIA opener against Sterling College (Kan.) on Friday night. The Warriors from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference will be making their 2012-13 debut against the Royals and tip-off will be at 7 P.M. in the Turner Athletic Center.

Besides, we don't know why he got the tech. I got his back. I may not always like or agree with what he does, but I will support him and his family as he continues to represent us. JR, Victor, keep it up. Supporters, family, mentors, fans AND haters are all part of the game.
