ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A series of stakeholder consultations across the Territory will get underway from July 20 to 24, 2026, as the Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund (VICCTF) prepares to launch its first Call for Proposals (CFP 2026-01) in August-September 2026.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the consultations are designed to help eligible organisations understand the Trust, prepare for CFP 2026-01, and provide input on local priorities.

Funding Windows

The inaugural funding round will offer grants through two funding windows: Window 1a, Community Resilience, and Window 1b, Capacity-Building and Climate-Smart Education.

The release further added that participants will be provided with insights about the Trust’s governance, the funding process, and how to develop and submit competitive proposals once applications open.

Chief Executive Officer of VICCTF, Mr Chamberlain Emmanuel, stated, “These consultations mark an important step as we move from establishing the Trust to putting climate financing directly into the hands of the organisations doing the work on the ground.”

He added, “We want every eligible organisation across the Territory to understand what this fund can do for their community and how to access it.”

Sessions

The in person consultation sessions will be held on Tortola on July 20 at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM and July 21 at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM at BVI Finance Conference Room at Cutlass Tower, on Anegada on July 22 at 10:00 AM at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre, and on July 23 both on Jost van Dyke at 10: 00 AM at the Primary School (New Building) and on Virgin Gorda at 5:00 PM at the Flax Administration Building conference room. An online session for those unable to attend in person will be held on July 24 at 10:00 AM via Zoom.

Organisations

The release further stated that these consultations are intended for government agencies, statutory bodies, private sector entities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), faith-based organisations (FBOs), and other organisations eligible to apply for CFP 2026-01 funding. These organisations are encouraged to register in advance and attend through an assigned representative.

The Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund was established under the Virgin Islands Climate Change Trust Fund Act, 2015, to raise, manage, and deploy climate finance for local climate change adaptation and mitigation priorities in the Virgin Islands.
