VI Men lost their third match against an undefeated Team Dominica, falling 1-3 in four sets at the ECVA Senior Men and Women’s Championship on Friday, August 14, 2026. Photo: ECVA

In their second game of the tournament, VI Women beat Grenada 3-1 (25-16, 17-25, 25-23, 25-14) at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town, Tortola. 

Head Coach Shaquille Rose said, “We’re very appreciative of the turnout that the home crowd came and gave to the ladies; the ladies fed off that energy; they kept the ladies motivated and invigorated.”

He added that following the loss of their first game, they went back to the drawing board to understand their opponents. “We said tonight’s a new game, we’re going to try some new things, try some new players, try some new rotations and it worked out.”

Team Captain Henrietta Alexander said the team “pivoted” in their approach, saying, “This game was an indication of us paying attention to what we did and changing it because we wanted an outcome.”

She added that the team came in strong in the first set, dropping the second set to Grenada with the passes. “We regrouped, we spoke about it, and we corrected it, and that is what volleyball is about…I’m extremely proud of the ladies.”

The women are currently in second place in Pool A with 4 points and 1 win and 1 loss. 

The women come up against Bermuda today, Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM. 

VI Men lose 3rd straight match

Meanwhile, VI Men lost their third match against an undefeated Team Dominica, falling 1-3 in four sets: 25-18, 25-18, 15-25, 25-15, in what was described as a hard-fought win for Dominica. 

BVI Men are currently in fourth place in Pool B with 3 losses and 0 wins with 4 points.
