VI Women lose opening match @ECVA Championships
The match ended 3-0 with set scores of 24-4, 25-21, 25-19, with Antigua controlling the match from the beginning and maintaining the pressure throughout. VI Women struggled to find their footing on home court.
Antigua Assistant Coach Rosemarie Simon told ECVA representatives after the match that she told her team they needed to come out and play their best game. That, she added, is exactly what the team did, executing the game plan well.
VI Women wil come up against Grenada Women in their second match tonight, August 14, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
VI Men lose 2nd straight match
Meanwhile, VI Men lost their second match against Bermuda, falling 1-3 (18-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-20) in a hard-fought battle.
Despite the men giving it their all, they were unable to get past Bermuda. The men will compete in their third match today, Friday, August 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM, against an unbeaten Dominica Men’s team.
