ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Miss Elegantly Plus 2026 will be hosted in the Virgin Islands in July.

Following its debut in March 2025, the Miss Elegantly Plus has emerged as one of the Caribbean’s few pageants dedicated exclusively to celebrating plus-size beauty, confidence and elegance.

Date change

The event was scheduled to take place in March 2026; however, the date has been changed to July 11, 2026.

VI participant encouraged to sign up

The Virgin Islands is currently seeking an interested individual to sign up to represent the country at this year’s event.

According to a recent Facebook post by the pageant committee, the event is a celebration of confidence, curves, culture, and Caribbean pride.

The Virgin Islands is hoping to confirm a delegate by February 14, and interested participants do not need pageant experience.

Last year, the crown was captured by Miss Sylvanna L. Charles from the Virgin Islands.

Let's not celebrate unhealthy habits. This country already has a high rate of individuals with diabetes. This does not send the right message about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The reality is not all overweight people are unhealthy. Some still are very active and that is just their makeup. Others probably have metabolism and other issues. We can eat the same foods and the other person would gain more weight and have to fight harder to.keep the weight down.

Some people are just heavy in body structure. They exercise a lot and are quite fit. The pageant encourages persons to embrace beauty in all sizes and helps individuals to feel comfortable and happy with who they are. It also focuses of intelligence as well as an opportunity to showcase ones culture.

So we inviting MORE people in here to laugh and talk about how dirty the country is? How big our pot holes are, how we have norhing to do on island except the beach, and how expensive everything is? We need to CLEAN this place up and stop having people visit us in this state. RoadTown, the capital so frigging STINK. Bobby's keep dominating the sidewalk 95% of the time each year, most real-estate owners in town do NOT keep the outside of their buildings up to code. The place looks run down! So embarrassing!! Another pointless pagaent that will do nothing for us as a nation. When last we heard about our own crown winners??

I have zero tolerance for foolishness like this. How does such a pageant benefit anyone? What message will be promoted on the platform?I have serious concerns about this one because up to this week on Talking Points the awareness of healthcare was discussed by the professionals. Why on earth would the VI be hosting such a pageant to award someone for being obese? This is utterly ridiculous and I call upon the Ministry of Health for their intervention to stop this level of madness.

    Congratulations, to all involved!

This looks like a wonderful event to attend!

Not all plus sized are diseased!
As a matter of fact, many slim ones will die, before some of these plus sized!

Again, it is nice that all body sizes are encouraged, , and showcased in a manner, such as this!
