VI to host first-ever National Indoor Field Archery Championship

The event, which has also attracted participation from Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago, is being hosted by the recently formed Virgin Islands Field Archery Federation (VIFAF).
According to the VIFAF, this historic event marks the beginning of a new tradition in VI sports, showcasing rising talent and the growing impact of archery among youth and adults.
Milestone event
“We’re excited to host this milestone event,” said Reuben J. Stoby, President of the VIFAF. “It’s not just a competition — it’s a celebration of national pride, athletic excellence, and the future of archery in the Virgin Islands.”
The event will feature competition categories for youth, teens, and adults, including participants from schools, clubs, and the wider community. Spectators can look forward to thrilling matches, skill showcases, and the chance to try archery for themselves.
Mr Stoby shared that 11 of the 26-man Puerto Rico delegation will be shooting, while two archers from Trinidad and Tobago will also be taking to the shooting range.
The National Indoor Archery Championship, according to the VIFAF, is designed to be an annual highlight on the sporting calendar, building a legacy for future generations of VI archers.
Admission to the venue is free, and the public is encouraged to attend and support this exciting new chapter in local sports.
