ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Cable Tennis Channel host Mayleen Ramey has ventured the globe in search of the most intriguing tennis destinations in the world. She has showcased the exotic locales of the French Rivera, New Zealand, Hawaii, Argentina and Australia, and this coming Sunday, 8th April at 7:00 p.m. EST, she will introduce numerous viewers to the Virgin Islands.

The 30-minute segment of Destination Tennis-Virgin Islands features Ms. Ramey at Rosewood Little Dix Bay’s tennis programme and on the tennis courts of Biras Creek Resort. Etched into the production are scenes from her traverses around Virgin Gorda where she gives audiences a glimpse into the BVI culture and local happenings.

Jamie Pagliano, Segment Producer at Destination Tennis accompanied Ms. Ramey to the shoot and discovered why these 60 islands and cays are called Nature’s Little Secrets. “I fell in love with the BVI. It’s basically one of those places you didn’t know exists until you get there and then you find it, and you want to keep it a secret,” she said.

Filmed between 30th January and 4th February 2012, the footage exhibits Ms. Ramey’s journeys to The Baths, Leverick Bay, and Prickly Pear Island. Destination Tennis-Virgin Islands is the show’s third stop in the Caribbean after the islands of Bermuda, and The Bahamas.

Destination Tennis is available in 34 million households. After the BVI debuts on Easter Sunday it will be aired on the Tennis Channel another 25 times over a three-year period and become accessible to viewers 24-hours a day on the network’s Web site.

“The British Virgin Islands is renowned the world over for its sailing, scuba diving and pristine waters. To now be recognised in the tennis world and broadcasted on a major sports network puts us further into the homes and minds of millions of travellers. This paves the way for our visibility to increase in another market and attract new visitors to our destination,” said Malcia Smith-Hamilton, Ag. Director of Tourism at the BVI Tourist Board.
