WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao- The BVI Football Association (BVIFA) participated in the 2025 Concacaf Youth Football Summit, held from August 6–8, 2025, in Willemstad, Curaçao, with Youth and Female Football Coach Latoya Sue representing the territory among regional and global leaders in the sport.

The summit, hosted by Concacaf under the theme “Bridging Potential and Performance: Pathways to Excellence,” brought together technical directors, youth coaches, and development stakeholders from all 41 Member Associations, as well as global experts from FIFA, UEFA, and elite football nations such as England, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Coach Sue, according to a press release from the BVIFA, engaged in high-level workshops and panel discussions focusing on talent identification, tournament preparation, mental readiness, youth academy development, and the creation of high-performance environments.

Special emphasis was placed on expanding opportunities for girls and young women, aligning closely with the BVIFA’s continued commitment to inclusive and sustainable football development.

Youth empowerment & social impact

Coinciding with International Youth Day (August 12), the summit also emphasised football’s role as a powerful vehicle for youth empowerment and social impact.

Coach Sue participated in sessions designed to raise coaching standards in the women’s game and promote leadership pathways for women in football.

The BVIFA said it continues to support and engage in regional programmes, including the Concacaf Grassroots Charter, Coach Education Programmes, and Bigger Game initiatives, as part of its broader strategy to develop a thriving football ecosystem within the Virgin Islands.
