BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI – Talk show host Claude O. Skelton-Cline has lauded the concept of a Government of National Unity as a good one; however, he slammed the process that led to the formation of the latest Unity Government led by Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7).

“The Unity Government idea and construct is a good idea… some things are good no matter who it come from or where it came from,” he said during the January 24, 2023, edition of the Honestly Speaking show on ZBVI 780AM.

“Given the current geo-political climate of the Virgin Islands, the whole construct of a unity government is in fact a good idea, but what I believe need to be suggested and offered, we want a unity government selected democratically by the people of this country and not one that was selected,” he said.

Skelton- Cline said while it is easy to critique what moved the creation of the Government of National Unity, the idea of a government of national unity was a clear symbol that communicated a message that all in the VI must come together to take the country forward.

Unity Gov't formed on May 4, 2022

Wheatley (R7); Junior Minister for Tourism, Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines (R6); Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports, Hon Sharie B. de Castro (AL) and Minister for Communications and Works, Hon Kye M. Or perhaps they're simply not wiling to subject themselves and their families to the disparaging remarks and the abuse and insinuations that have become par for the course!

Here is a man without shame. One who prophesied that he got it from the horse's mouth or another shady mouth that a female will be the next premier.

Without one ounce of remorse his next statement was oh it seems like it will not happen and simply move on. It ok to have to gift of gab but have the gift without an ounce of honesty or integrity place him in a certain light.

I am happy that the press recently has not been referring to him as a man of the cloth thank you for being honest journalist. The only two places in the world he could be referred to as a Pastor is in the USA and tola. And the only church in the world that would associate with him without repentance is the one where he attends.

Are there no more wives like pontius pilate wife who would take the time out to say husband you doing sh.t.it take a special stupid breed of woman to remain un a relationship with someone with a reputation and character like Al the disgrace Sharpton. You remember a few years ago when Al was in prison in Brooklyn. How he went on a fast. How a lady use to bring tea in a flask for him every morning. Eventually it turn out that it was actually food.

What BVI really need is a two year take over from Britain, Put thing back in order, then hand it back to us, with a 4 yr observation once please and satisfy with good governance give us clearance for our independence...Truth be told BVI has a mentally of greed and get rich quick at any means..Thats why Britain needs to step in and put a stop or a pause, or else corruption will not stop.
