The announcement was made by the BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission in an April 24, 2026, press release. It said the accolade builds on the Territory’s strong momentum following its 2025 distinction as the Hottest Destination of the Year by the same publication.

The annual awards celebrate excellence across global travel, spotlighting standout destinations, properties, and experiences that define high-end tourism. Winners of the 2026 awards will be featured in the publication’s May 2026 print issue.
Award speaks to consistency of VI’s product- Mr McCoy
Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission, Mr Clive L. The VI was named the Hottest Destination of the Year, while Oil Nut Bay’s Quintessa Villa was named Best Private Villa in the Caribbean in 2025.

Recent publications recognising the destination and its tourism industry partners in their award rankings include US News & World Report, Caribbean Journal and USA Today Readers’ Choice Top 10 Awards.
