DUFF'S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI – Bishop of the New Life Baptist Church in Duff's Bottom, Tortola, Mr John I. Cline has called on the people of the [British] Virgin Islands (VI) to enter 2023 in unity and to reject a host of negative traits.

“Let us go forward into 2023 in unity, let us live as Dr Martin Luther King once said, we must learn to live together as brother and sisters and perish as fools, as we position ourselves for a better and brighter Virgin Islands,” he said in a statement recorded on November 3, 2022.

The clergyman called on the people of the VI to demand more and reject divisiveness and more in the territory ahead of the new year. "We the people must say with a loud and clear voice, enough to division, enough to partisan politics, enough to UK dominance in our governance."

Bishop Cline continued, “Enough to illegal activity and criminal activity in our land, and let us say yes to justice, yes to peace and safety, yes to progress, and yes to righteousness," he added.

The issue of drug running has been one of the biggest challenges facing the Virgin Islands, due to its proximity to the US Virgin Islands and the challenges of monitoring its borders.

It is no secret that a number of Virgin Islanders have been caught up in this illegal activity.

Even its former Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1) is facing drug-related charges in the United States.

Building a better tomorrow

Bishop Cline remarked that the VI can and will build a better tomorrow if the people do it themselves while keeping the future generation in mind.

Meanwhile, he reminded that in 2023, the people of the VI will get an opportunity to elect 13 members to the House of Assembly, "Whoever you are, know that we will hold you accountable because you often seem to forget who hired you, it is we the people," he said.

In an appeal to Virgin Islanders, he reminded that while votes will count to put legislators in the House, after the election it is the voice that counts.

"Let your voice be heard, don't ever vote for anybody who wants your vote but dishonours your voice," he added.

I don’t see anything afoot in this statement by the Bishop. I agree with the remarks, let’s be on better footing for 2023.

No one is calling dates for the election maybe it’s a secret.

@Religion is the problem. U sound foolish. People have the free will to believe in what they want or not. If u think the Bible fake then don't follow it. Weather u like it or not Jesus will always be King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords. Dont let this bishop who may be a mis-representation to the kingdom fool you.

No contemporaneous writings in the first century AD mention anyone called Jesus or anyone vaguely like him.

Read the story of the Egyptian god Horus, 2000 years before, to understand where the legends came from.

You, "man of the clergy", are the most divisive person of all. I have never heard any pastor, sorry 'Bishop' freely rail against a race or ethnic group as much as you do. Jesus judged people on their character and heart, not the color of their skin. You don't represent Him -- you represent yourself. I am really disgusted with the acrimony and generalities you use on a people group. Don't ask us to unite and spit out this anti-Christ verbage. You are welcome to your views, but you and CSC need to stay far from the church. You are both tarnishing the name of Christ.

Bishop John Cline, your don't seems to realise it, but you are very confused man. Your actions and words rival against each other. After so many times is shameful practices, you are cunningly pretending that you a trus advisor of righteous living. The truth is, only deceived people have accepted your for righteous unity in 2023.
Bishop John Cline, neither can you, others nor me can serve God as He has required from a selfish and greedy mindset. In mind, and many others that know the truth about your continuing deceptive behaviour, do want to hear you. Please yourself a favour, stop making a fool of yourself, and stop fooling others.
"If the blind be leaders of the blind..." True freedom will never become an experience reality, for those that are now in bondage.
You are a leader of the deceived, because you have been deceived by the Chief deceiver.
The people of the BVI do urgently need good leaders. You are not one among them. You are, in fact, a false bishop of the blind, whose mind eyes need to be open no sooner than now.

What I have written do not mean that I have hate in my heart against you, I only hate the poison that you are offering to our citizens, by way of deception, especially in such time when genuine good governance is needed.

The best of the BVI has gone, the Harvest period is over, the billion dollar economy with nothing to show is a reality that's not real anymore....The BVI is Done..Those people that receiving millions annually for office space rental should say Amen and God bless Politicians, but they better prepare because it will soon be over...Can't see BVI getting any better anytime soon..Hence the reason why I'm supporting giving Britain the wheel for two years. Try something different.. If what we've being doing ain't working. .
