NEW YORK, USA – Fashion model with strong VI roots Brionka Halbert has been featured on a huge New York City billboard for Steve Madden, a fashion company based in Long Island City, New York, that designs and markets shoes and fashion accessories.

Halbert, who has been representing the VI in the world of fashion since 2016, had told JTV back in 2019 that she was first signed to Kanye West as a major breakthrough moment in her career.

In a Facebook post shared by Ayana S. Hull and which has since received several likes and shares, persons were seen congratulating Halbert for representing the VI.

Brionka whose parents are Russell and Alsha Bertie-Halbert, said her career got off to a start when she was scouted straight out of high school, taken to New York by her mom, and signed immediately.

Brionka at the time said her major moments included being featured in Vogue UK, Allure magazine and more, “Anybody asks me where I’m from, I say I’m from the BVI, Tortola” she added.

Models need to have high self-confidence- Brionka 

While fashion is all gilts and glam, Brionka added that some of the challenges of the field are that it is not as easy as everyone thinks it is, but rather competitive, and models need to have high self-confidence. 

Steve Madden markets footwear, handbags, and accessories products sold in over 80 countries worldwide.

The brand said its products are about authenticity and about embracing individuality.
