ALAJUELA, Costa Rica- The Virgin Islands (VI) suffered another heavy loss in Group D at the 2026 CONCACAF Men’s U-17 Football Qualifiers in Costa Rica on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

After falling 12-nil to Puerto Rico on February 5, 2026, the Virgin Islands were demolished 26-nil by Costa Rica at FCRF Field #2 in Alajuela.

Paul González led the way with five goals on the day for Costa Rica. Akenai Samuels and Ethan Barley struck four goals each, and Santiago Quirós registered a hat trick to highlight an effective day on offense for Los Ticos.

The VI will play their final game on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, against the Turks and Caicos Islands. Both teams are without a win and have been the whipping boys of Group D.
