VI launching survey to gauge perception towards COVID vaccination
Dr Georges, speaking at a special GIS presentation on September 15, 2021, said the need for the survey has arisen out of concerns that vaccination numbers were dwindling, and it will also collect data on misconceptions surrounding the taking of the jabs.
Server will collect a range of data
He said the survey will also collect data on the issues concerning the vaccination and where people are getting their knowledge from, “to help us to understand what’s going on with people’s decision making around vaccination [and] to better strategise as to how we can promote vaccination,” he said.
The acting CMO said depending on findings, a new approach will be taken towards vaccine education in the VI and to better explain the vaccine.
Dr Georges said that just about 50% of the territory has received both doses of the vaccine and health authorities have entered a new stage where they must get addition additional information out in a more targeted approach.
Persons still on the fence - Dr Georges
When questioned on whether the survey is needed, Dr Georges said one only has to look at conversations on social media.
The survey, he said, will ultimately help authorities better understand what is it that persons need to help them better decide to get the vaccine.
Dr Georges said while a lot of people have come around to the idea of understanding the vaccine and how it works, there’s still a lot of misconceptions and many remain on the fence.

Stop talking nonsense. You assume people have not done their research, that they even give a rats about social media. You make plenty assumptions for one who is condoning the need for research. When you assume you make an @#% out of U, not ME and the community cant deal with anymore a@$#iness so please.
It makes a huge difference.
Option 2: get vaxxed and be part of the solution. If you are infected, highly unlikely it will be serious enough to go to the hospital. If the Territory gets a high enough proportion vaccinated, tourists will return. Bonus, it wll also restrict the development of additional variants. True, few want to be vaxxed, but hands up if you’re ready to step into the pine box. Without vaccines, we’d still have measles, mumps, rubella, yellow fever, diphtheria, polio. Some of those infectious diseases are making a come back because people refuse to vaxx.
I've never looked down on anyone who've decided to be part of a medical experiment because I think it's good to have people brave enough to risk their lives so others may live. But that's the thing. They made the decision to participate in an experiment. I think the vaccines are an experiment and it's immoral to present it as anything other than that. If I wanted to make peace with a question mark I'd volunteer. You can't have freedom.of choice if you can't say no. It's no bravery if it's forced or coerced. I know vaccinated and unvaccinated people and I've listened to why they have made their choices. I just want my right to chose how I treat my body to be respected.
If I were obese no one would be mandating exercise and no junk food. I see no one partitioning to make cigarettes and alcohol illegal despite the number one cause of death for years being cancer and these two things most definitely lead to cancer. I find and it incredulous that so many people would care about the health of others when we live in a society filled with sick people and people on the path to grave illnesses and it took us decades to get there. Social justice warriors have something they call concern trolling. It's when you pretend to care about the well being of someone to virtue signal or put them down so you can feel better about yourself. I think this is happening with the vaccines which leads me to the second biggest reason I'm opposed to the vaccine.
Nothing about how this is being handled is reasonable or scientific. When confronted about mixed messaging Dr. Fauci dismisses all criticism by stating the information changed. While it is true that science can be self correcting even the mildly scientifically literate can figure out if a study is reaching a logic conclusion. I've seen studies being dismissed for having too few participants while other studies are being touted all over the media and that study have fewer participants than the dismissed study. Some professional have been silenced despite being highly reputable before they decided to voice their scientifically informed opinion of a disease that falls within their speciality. Once the vaccine came on scene we stopped hearing about medications that might be just as effective if not even more. And why is natural immunity still being disregarded?
There is a bias and a double standard and criticism keeps getting buried or dismissed. The ones who dare question anything get censored if they can't be ridiculed. Various avenues for discussion and exploration have been closed and deemed psuedoscience or misinformation. The irony is we often say "follow the science" but we've muzzled so many scientists and academics whose opinion should hold weight if we truly believed that the science should be followed.
In general, the nature of science and how it works has been misrepresented and misunderstood. The idea that scientists always agree is completely untrue. Quite often there are various theories and schools of thoughts within a chosen field. I don't think the general population understands that discourse is normal and welcomed within the scientific community. It's productive. In our normal life when people fight they may never speak to each other again but in academia disagreement allows newcomers to enter the area and explore the possibilities to find the truth.
Instead of seeing healthy debates and discussion we have the media warping studies and misinterpreting them and presenting them as fact. In addition to this they are tainting their articles with emotions and opinions. In turn, people are not only reading articles for information they are being told what to think and feel. That is dangerous and wrong.
I can ramble on about this but as I write I just remembered something I read last night that summarizes what I think the problem is.
This is a quote from the book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" written by Yuval Noah Harari
"But it shouldn't surprise us. Even science itself has to rely on religious and ideological beliefs to justify and finance research.
Modern culture has nevertheless been willing to embrace ignorance to a much greater degree than has any previous culture. One of the things that has made it possible for modern social orders to hold together is the spread of an almost religious belief in technology and in the methods of scientific research, which have replaced to some extent the belief in absolute truths."
Many of us don't want to admit it but science has become a religion for some not in the sense that it is worshipped but many place an unwavering faith in science (akinned to the level we see in the pious) while forgetting the most important thing. We are all humans which means we are flawed. We can lie and decieve and some of us have an insatiable hunger for power. We are all capable of doing cruel things in the name of good or sometimes just for pleasure. Many understand how religion have harmed and killed millions throughout time but we don't seem to understand that we can still do that. The advent of medicine and technology didn't stop is from being barbarians. We are still very much capable and the only thing that keeps our savagery at bay is actually keeping each other in check by allowing the market of ideas to be free and accessible to all.
Right now we have a power struggle going on and many are under the impression that they are on the winning side. They have no qualms with dismissing others and advocating for oppression because they cannot fathom that they are wrong. That they may one day be a target.
Science have been hijacked and used as a weapon, our emotions and ego are the bullets. No one wants to be wrong. No one wants to be stupid so we pretend to know more than we do. The slightest skepticism from the cautious are seen as an affront.
The worse thing is it's not even our ire. Someone benefits from keeping the masses ignorance. Someone benefits from keeping us turned against each other. I challenge anyone reading this to stop and question. The next time someone talks about vaccines and you feel rage or fear, ask why. Where did that feeling come from? Did you come by it honestly? Is it rational for you to feel and think the way you do? If you acted on your thoughts and emotions would that bring harm to society or would it help society? Why do you think that other person's opinion is wrong or dangerous and why should they not have the right to have their own thoughts and make their own decisions?
There is a lot more that I can say on this but I'll be saving it for the survey when I see it. Just know by approaching unvaccinated with the premise that they are so because they are misinformed is wrong. It's offering a conclusion before seeing the evidence. Believe it or not multiple people can see the same information and come out with different conclusions. I think if the government is truly interested in helping people and understand they should stop trying to herd people into having the opinion they want them to have.
TL;DR
I'm unvaccinated because I'm skeptical of this vaccine. I'm weighing the benefit I could receive in the present from taking it against the risk of damage I could receive in the fitut if I take it. I haven't seen a good response to this line of thinking to change my mind.
In addition, I think academic ajd scientific institutions have been corrupted in order to present a divisive narrative. That makes me even more skeptical of the intention behind the choices being met. If there were more transparency I would have probably made a difference decision. The vitriole I see unvaxxed people receive from the vaxxed encouraged by the media and our leaders further pushes me away from changing my mind. I don't want to be bullied into making a choice I don't support. I respect the decision others have made, I just want mine to be respected in turn.
Ps take into consideration that the cdc and public health uk can't seem to figure if to vaxx kids or not after so many kids been having adverse effects after taking the jab.

Please Read and be informed our leaders are not being truthfull when it comes to these Vaxxes
The BVI relies on the wider world for its economy, financial investment funds our public service, tourism creates local jobs for restaurants and hotels and bars, which in turn create demand for provisions (so farmers, shops, etc), cars, tours the list goes on.
So this is not about personal choice, this is a global change, people need to stop thinking this is is about them, or about the BVI and look to the example of the wider world, where vaccination is mandatory in many places, that are rebuilding their economies.
The choice seems to be join the world as a responsible adult, and get vaccinated, or lock the territory up, regress and live off the land, as the financial investment and the tourists will not continue if we don't progress.
Please stop using this as a political or religious fight - The pope is encouraging vaccines!
Protect our BVI for the future and get vaccinated.
I’m not comfortable with the amount of censorship and being fed obvious propaganda.
I’m not comfortable with the thought of justifying global vaccination of the over hundred thousand year old human race with a medicine whipped up in under two years.
From the time I heard bill gates say we’ve never vaccinated 8billion people before I decided it’s not a good idea & there’s not enough time or data to justify it.
Why do u think they spent over 40 million to create COVID
The virus was definitely created to mandate such vaccine
Soo that we can’t buy or sell except we receive the mark
