SCRUB ISLAND, VI – The Virgin Islands (VI) offers good memories, and US talk show host and new darling of daytime talk show Wendy Williams can’t wait to return to "chalk up" some more.

Speaking briefly to journalists last evening October 14, 2011 at Scrub Island Resort after taping a show, Ms. Williams gushed about the beautiful weather, the people, fresh food and the iridescent waters.

“How soon can I make plans to come back,” she said, is at the back of her mind. “It [VI] is nothing but good memories. It’s affordable and beautiful...it’s clean.”

As for how she intends to portray the VI on her show, Ms. Williams said "the best way I can" and hinted “You will have to tune in.”

However, Virgin Islands News Online understands she will highlight some of the VI’s rich heritage and culture, including swimming with the dolphins.

Her presence in the VI is a carefully crafted move by the BVI Tourist Board to tap into the US market to lure more tourists to the VI shores.

In a recent press conference, chairman of the board, Neil Blyden had stated that the VI will be featured in a four minute promo.

“Her show is seen between 50 to 100 million viewers and we will get airtime that we are not paying for...a 30 seconds advertisement cost around $50,000,” the TB’s chairman had told journalists.

Furthermore, Ms. Williams for the November sweeps will host a “Watch and Win BVI” promotion where the winners will enjoy what all the VI has to offer.

“This promotion with the BVI will add about 25 percent more potential visitors who are interested in coming here...this is going to be put Brand BVI in place where you could not imagine,” Mr. Blyden added.

Mr. Blyden is a marketing genius..much better than Myron..he should have been appointed from the get go we would have been much further along with the sector from wasting time with Myron just giving shirts to taxi men for their votes today

Good stuff!!! To the idiots chiding Myron, Mr. Ralph Oneal said himself, in his own words he wanted to appoint Blyden but he couldn't because of a police investigation! I shall say no more! But last I checked Myron was never investigated by the police, hampering him from an appointment anywhere!! Blyden is good at what he's good at, you can't take it from him! But why compare him to Myron? Myron is running successful businesses before he was 30yrs old, own his own law firm and company management firm. How many locals can boast that? Ever been to Moorings Village? AWESOME! Wonderful work of Myron. I will say congrats to Myron, Blyden and all locals doing big things! We need to stop allowing politics to bring down people! When Myron was on the VIP side he was a god sent, he was intelligent, he was gifted, he was successful! As soon as he decided to make a change as it regards to his political leanings, all of a sudden he's a bad thing sent from the pit of hell! You all people are pathetic! The number one hater was a good friend of his who is just jealous of Myron, but when we put him in as an at-large in a few weeks, he will eat his heart out! Who want to bet Myron will get the most votes come election?

Ralph T Oneal praised Myron when he appointed him and praised him for his works as Chairman!! The tapes are there, if you believe what you say above that means the Premier is really a liar then? The Premier himself said Myron did a good job!!

come on what else Uncle Ralph would have said about the funny man he appointed...but Uncle and both board members and the staff knew Myron was not up to the task and was doing a very poor job. He will go down in history as the worse TB board Chairman. its like night and day between the work Blyden is doing and what the funny man has done. I know I work for the TB and Myron was a big failure trust me people....if he could not run a little board how the hell he would run a government?

wendy williams audience cannot afford even a 1-way flight to the bvi. Sorry but these funds have been grossly misappropriated.

i heard with my own ears tonight in North Sound Myron throwing his words about the people the Tourist Board is marketing too cannot afford a ticket to the BVI...he is such a fool. With over 5 million viewers you mean to tell me none of them could afford a ticket to the BVI...suckteet..the boy is just sick, and needs mental help. We will see him walking the streets like Yellow just after the elections mark my words BVI.. The idiot is jealous because he does not have Mr. melee marketing skills and cannot represent the BVI like he does...Myron you relay turn me off big time, I have lost all respect for you.
