ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - An International Women’s Day dinner event in the Virgin Islands (VI) set for March 8, 2022, will feature USVI Senator Janelle K. Sarauw as its main guest speaker according to information from event organizer, and 'Cut Deep' host, Rosemary Cindy Rosan-Jones.

The dinner entitled ‘#BreakTheBias’ is scheduled to take place at Maria’s By the Sea with additional guest speakers including At-Large Representative and Junior Minister for Trade and Economic Development, Hon Shereen D. Flax-Charles (AL); Speaker, Dawn Corea Leonard; Guest Poet, April Glasgow along with Host Sarah Penny.

Rosan-Jones speaking to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) said the Senator was invited as a guest given the territory is heading into an election season.

Rosan-Jones in a Facebook post detailed, “I have been following Senator Janelle K. Sarauw for some time now; and to say that she inspires me, would be a grave understatement.”

“I was overwhelmed with joy. Between me and you, I danced by my desk,” she added. 

Over 100 Women scheduled to attend  

According to Rosan-Jones, the organizing team is looking forward to welcoming Senator Sarauw to the VI where over 100 women will attend the event.

She added, however, that with high ticket demands, the event will have to expand its seating capacity so more persons can be accommodated. 

The dinner is being co-sponsored by Hon Flax-Charles, Opposition Leader Hon Marlon A. Penn (R2), and Deputy Speaker, Hon Neville A. Smith (AL) with event entertainment provided by KenDAKE & Xtreme Band.
