VI Icon Awards nominees announced






Twenty awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award and a Young Emerging New Talent Award, will be given during the show on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Award categories
The following individuals were nominated for awards as follows:

Mr Jahnai L. Caul of Virgin Gorda is the 2025 Earnest and Young Emerging New Talent Awardee.
Five new categories
Five new categories will be introduced during this year’s VI Icon Awards.
Mr Kareem Nelson-Hull, Executive Producer, said, “We know our show isn’t that old, but we still want to keep it fresh by introducing these five new and deserving categories.”
The new categories and their nominees are:
The House of Luxury Award for Excellence from the Family Islands: Dr Amber V. Wheatley (Virgin Gorda), Hakim T. Creque (Virgin Gorda), Jerry and Tish O’Connell (Jost Van Dyke), Lyra George (Virgin Gorda), and Shirley Vanterpool (Anegada).
The Marckeson Award for Customer Service Excellence: Collin Butler, Denise Rouse, Garon Dixon, Mahkayla Pickering, and Tinika Tibery.
The Virgin Islands Icon Award for Choreography and Dance: Amanda Georges (BVI Dance School), Emery Che Pemberton, Heather Butcher and Eileene L. Parsons (BVI Heritage Dancers), and Natisha and Lakisha Claxton (Nouveau Royale)
BVI Ports Authority Award for Industrial Action and Development are Autland Heavy Equipment, James Todman Construction, OBMI, and Skelton Group of Companies
VP Bank Award for Visual Arts-Photography are Dame Peters (Dame Peters Photography), Jerome Edgar Morton (JM Photography), Khari J. Adams (Khaptured Photography), Ronnielle Frazer (Photo Journalism, Government of the Virgin Islands), and Shaun Black (John F. Black Photography)
“One of the rules set out by the Virgin Islands Icon Awards requires that any time a producer, a judge or a close family member is selected in any category as a nominee, that category has to automatically be decided by public vote,” Mr Nelson-Hull explained.
This year, the Virgin Islands Icon Award for Choreography and Dance and the House of Luxury Award for Excellence from the Family Islands will be decided by the public.
The Marckeson Award for Customer Service Excellence will also be decided through public vote, as is customary.

It was the NDP Government that give away our moneys to Bank of Asia $50m and $7m to BVI Airways. Now they coming back for more. We want an investigation.
That so-called church that the so-called performer pastor acts at …can’t say preach…performs at…has a lot of people going there who want to have one foot in the world and a toe leaning on God because they have a leader who does the same thing.
It’s a popularity thing making a mockery of God.
No shame with some of these nominations that’s a friend thing.
Educators are hardly recognised in this country. Guess they're just glorified baby sitters.
Anyway, Mr. Mather should win his category. He's doing a great work with YEP.
