VI ends participation in CFU U14 football series with loss to St Martin

PUNTA CANA, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic- The Virgin Islands (VI) closed out their participation in the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U14 Boys Challenge Series in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, with a heavy loss to St Martin.

The VI boys conceded five goals, while being unable to find the back of their opponents’ nets at the Cap Cana Sports City in Punta Cana.

The visitors were unable to pick up a point in Tier II Group A, as they lost 2-nil to St Vincent and The Grenadines and 3-1 to Bonaire.

St Martin, although tied on 7 points with St Vincent & The Grenadines, won the group by virtue of a superior goal difference and have qualified for the semi-finals.

The VI’s lone goal of the Challenge Series was scored by George Hollingworth.
