VI & Cayman Islands play to 1-1 draw in international football friendly
The visitors found themselves trailing at Truman Bodden Sports Complex in just the 7th minute when Shakur Silburn put the Cayman Islands ahead with a free kick from the top of the 18-yard box that penetrated the VI wall.
Splatt to the rescue
The Virgin Islands responded in the 20th minute when Jauvan Splatt received a long ball and managed to fight off a defender and a charging goalkeeper before chipping the ball into an open goal.
Both teams were up to the task defensively and were unable to trouble the score sheets for the remainder of the game.
When the two teams met prior, in the first round of the Concacaf International Friendly Series on November 12, 2025, the VI snapped a long run of going winless when they edged their opponents 2-1 at Truman Boden Sports Complex.
The VI Boys play their final game of the second round of the international friendly series against Anguilla at Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town today, from 4:30 PM.
The Concacaf International Friendly Series is designed to give member associations meaningful international matches, allowing teams to gain experience and preparation ahead of upcoming competitions.
