VI beat hosts Dominica for Bronze @ ECVA U23 Women’s Tournament

MASSACRE, St Paul Parish, Dominica- The [British] Virgin Islands have finished third at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (EVCA) U23 Women’s Tournament in Dominica, gaining sweet revenge for their opening game loss to hosts Dominica on September 20, 2023.

The VI girls won in straight sets: 25-14, 25-20, 25-21 in the bronze medal match against Dominica at the Massacre Indoor Facility in Massacre, St Paul Parish on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

The VI girls had reached the semi-finals after finishing second in Group B but lost to St Lucia in their semi-final game Saturday night.

St Lucia went on to beat St Maarten in the final.

Meanwhile, the Virgin Islands’ players have picked up several individual awards.

    Huge congratulations to the team. In case persons have not noticed the VI has been making positive waves in the sports world. Time for Government and private sector to put some funds in this area as the potential upside is huge!!
