VI basketball superstar D’Moi M. Hodge ties the knot

Hodge made history in 2023 as the first basketball player born in the Virgin Islands to compete in the prestigious National Basketball Association (NBA).
The Virgin Islander currently plays for the NBA G League team, Rip City Remix, based in North Portland, Oregon.
Hodge, despite his accomplishments, remains humble and has given back to the sport by passing on some of his skills to aspiring basketball players at youth camps. He is expected to return home in August to conduct a basketball camp at Multi-Purpose Sports complex from August 7-10, 2025.
The basketball superstar has also participated in the King of the Courts Caribbean Championship with Team Tola in April 2024.
His contribution to the regional tournament showcased not only his exceptional skills on the court but also his commitment to promoting basketball in his home region.
Mya Matthews
Mya Matthews, equally impressive in her own right, has built a successful career that began when she moved into her first apartment in Atlanta, Georgia, at just 18 years old. She attended Clark Atlanta University, where she pursued a major in business with a concentration in marketing while also minoring in political science.
Her journey through university laid a solid foundation for her entrepreneurial ventures, and she has since become a prominent figure in the content creation space.
In a heartwarming announcement on his Facebook page, Hodge shared the beautiful moment of their union, tagging his newlywed wife, Mya Mathews Hodge, as he joyfully declared, "Allow us to reintroduce ourselves: Mr. and Mrs. Hodge." He also included a thoughtful reference to Mark 10:9, which states, "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate," underscoring the couple's deep commitment to each other. Mya Matthews echoed those sentiments in her own post, expressing her excitement and gratitude, stating how honoured she feels to embark on this journey of life with her best friend by her side.
The Virgin Islands News Online extends heartfelt wishes to D'Moi and Mya as they embark on this exciting new chapter together, celebrating their love and the promise of a bright future ahead.
