NORTH SOUND, Virgin Gorda, VI - VI author Janice George-Harris today launched ‘Little Hill Stories’, a book which is a journey to the 1950s and the boyhood days of Roosevelt George, in North Sound, a traditional village of Virgin Gorda, in the Virgin Islands.
Launched today, May 6th at the Methodist Church Yard in North Sound Virgin Gorda release on the book launch detailed that Little Hill Stories is also an engaging commentary on North Sound life back in the day.

Ms Harris said the book is filled with "Adventure, mischief, classroom and church experiences, jumbie fright, and the chores of boys and girls come alive in chapters like "The Lesson," "Sunday's Sin," "Truant. and "Water Woes."

"There is an appendix of "Fun Activities" for teachers, students, parents, and community centers and a glossary. Some of the words and terms are no longer used in the Virgin Islands or the Caribbean in general," it added.

Mrs. George-Harris, who is also a trained educator and advocate for enhanced literacy among children, said the book is a stimulus that some students need to engage with literature and as they read, students will be able to identify with the characters and learn from their experiences.
