VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI— VG United etched their name in Virgin Islands football history after completing an extraordinary treble, with a 3-1 victory over rivals Sugar Boys in the 2025 BVIFA FA Cup Final on Saturday night, June 14, 2025, at the Virgin Gorda Recreational Ground.

The win marks VG United’s third major title of the 2024/2025 season, adding the prestigious FA Cup to their Men’s National League crown and 2025 President’s Cup trophy — a feat never before accomplished by the club.

Comeback victory

In front of an electrified home crowd, VG United overcame an early setback after Sugar Boys’ Kerron Munro calmly slotted home a penalty in the 14th minute to give Sugar Boys a 1-0 lead. Despite the early pressure, the Sugar Boys refused to fold.

Momentum shifted in the 42nd minute when Jaadon Quashie found the equalizer just before the break, capitalising on a slick attacking move to level the score at 1-1 going into halftime.

VG United resumed the second half with renewed intent, and it was Quashie again who delivered, striking in the 69th minute to give VG United the lead. The game was ultimately sealed in the 78th minute by midfielder Joel Mars, whose composed finish ignited celebrations among the fans and players.

Season to Remember

The 2024/2025 campaign will be remembered as one of the most dominant in VG United’s history. Their journey began with a commanding run in the Men’s National League, where consistency and attacking firepower propelled them to the summit. They followed up with a gritty yet clinical performance in the 2025 President’s Cup against rivals, Wolues, before capping the season with Saturday’s unmatched FA Cup victory.

“This is a special group,” said VG United’s head coach Jermain Abrams. “To win three titles in one season — it’s not just about talent, it’s about consistency , discipline, and belief. We would love to repeat this next season, and to do so, we have to take it in stages, one league and one game at a time.”

What’s Next?

With the domestic treble secured, VG United now turn their attention to preparations for the next campaign, where they will look to defend their titles and continue to raise the standard of club football not only in Virgin Gorda, but in the Virgin Islands.

They even hope to have some friendlies with neighbouring islands, such as St Martin, where they can further develop their game.
