EAST END, Tortola, VI- With a winning streak now standing at five, the youngsters of Virgin Gorda recorded a second successive 7-0 scoreline, with Old Madrid following in the footsteps of Lion Heart FC.

Joel Mars netted a quadruple and Jaadon Quashie a hat trick, giving him a total of twelve goals on the season, to highlight the table-topping performance at the weekend.

“The Boys are maturing with each game now and playing with confidence,” confirmed Manager Jermain Abrams. “Props go to Coach Ritchie and Bascome too, they produced the game plan and it obviously worked! The Coaches have also got the team focused on what we are trying to do, and I personally like how things are going and how they are playing as a unit.”

Wolues maul One Love 6-1

Wolues FC kept themselves in the hunt for the title with a 6-1 win over One Love FC, courtesy of goals from Leo Forte (2), Noel Maxwell (2), Phil Nelson and Marcus Robinson

“It was important to win after a setback last week and against last year’s winners we knew it wouldn’t be easy.” Noted Nelson “We were a little anxious at first and we were going a little long too often, but we calmed it down and tried to shorten it up and the chances then came. Credit to the whole team for a well-rounded performance," Nelson added.

Sugar Boys destroy Positive 11-0

Sugar Boys FC slid into fourth place just behind the Islanders FC with an 11-0 demolition of Positive FC, with Alejandro Sanchez scoring a quadruple, Aron Jules (2), and one each from Leonard Davis, Michael Castello, and Akeem Hendrikson. There were also a couple of own-goals thrown in for good measure.

“Every win from here on is important,” stated Derol Redhead. “We can’t afford to drop any points in our remaining games and although this one didn’t prove much of a challenge, there will be tough games ahead and wins like this fill the team with confidence, belief  and we are definitely looking forward to catching up with our rivals, VG United.”

Lion Heart FC overcame a tenacious Rebels FC as a brace from Janel Ferdinand either side of a Curtly Peters strike handed them all three points.
