The government needs to support the current youth basketball groups throughout the BVI. There is some real talent here but there is no real govt.support to encourage those coaches pushing the sport out of their own pockets. The kids are hungry for training and opportunities.

Why not give a 1,000 for each year they host the league. Put real money into sports

Ice connection look nervous though poor opening night
  • The government should provide greater support for existing youth basketball programs across the BVI. There is genuine talent here, but little official backing for the dedicated coaches who fund and promote the sport from their own resources. These young athletes are eager for training and opportunities to grow.

Why are there so many foreign players being flown and boated in to play in the league now? Some have never been to Virgin Gorda or the BVI before. With government pumping money into the league will the local RESIDENT players be the beneficiaries of these funds. Why the need for all the foreign , non resident players? Is it only about winning? They are being flown in for these games by certain teams. NOT AGAINST NON RESIDENT FOREIGNERS AS THEY ARE OUR VISITORS.

If the Government granted $9k towards VG Summerjam. Tell me why players from Tola still have to pay for the ferry ticket out of pockets?
