VG resident gets 30 months in prison for Marijuana find

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Appearing at the Magistrate’s Court today, July 23, 2012, to receive sentencing, Lenn Leonard of Virgin Gorda who was allegedly found with 3.4kg of cannabis, was sentenced to serve 30 months in prison starting from today.

The sentence was handed down by Magistrate Tamia Richards after Mr. Leonard pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply on May 15, 2012.

On December 30, 2011, Leonard was charged after Police seized over 2,000 plants and seedlings from his home and another by the name of Bakemba George.

According to court records, police officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, after responding to a tip, searched the home of Mr. Leonard and found two lines of Cannabis hanging in the kitchen, as well as cannabis seeds.

Mr. Leonard, 37, is the father of two and had no previous convictions.

    come on, why people still doing jail time for something that just grow< please post a link where anyone had ever died from this plant, zero! if you can find just 1 link that will be good, i dont smoke or sell or use in any way, but we need a better system in the virgin islands. lock up the people for the real crime,let the herbs man go!
