SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI – The Sister Island of Virgin Gorda in the [British] Virgin Islands has been chosen by the prestigious Forbes Magazine, as the destination that holds the eighth spot on the list of top destinations to visit in 2023.

Virgin Gorda is the only Caribbean Island to make the prestigious list and the island was featured in an article entitled “Here They Are: The 23 Best Places To Travel In 2023”, where Forbes described Virgin Gorda as “a destination of clear calm waters that offers first-class snorkelling”.

“Virgin Gorda is among the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets, with clear, calm waters and first-class snorkelling. The best way to explore has always been by boat, but with the reopening of the fully renovated Rosewood Little Dix Bay, staying on land is just as magical,” the publication noted.

The island is a sought-after vacation spot for couples, families, snorkelers, and beach bums where visitors are intrigued by The Baths with its huge boulders and pristine turquoise water.

List created by top travel advisors

The list was created based on recommendations by top travel advisors and this comes after Travel and Leisure’s article published an article entitled, “How Virgin Gorda is Making a Comeback After 2 Devastating Hurricanes – What’s New on the Island”

The article featured Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Saba Rock, and Bitter End Yacht Club. The three resorts have been described as the “blueprint for hospitality” that epitomizes a new era of tourism.

Local Tourism Director Clive McCoy stated, “Virgin Gorda gaining the eighth spot as the top destination in the world, and the only Caribbean destination of mention, is an accolade, we are genuinely proud of. This reflects the hard work of our industry partners, stakeholders, and the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission (BVITB&FC).”

Mr McCoy remains optimistic about the future of travel to destination VI and He highlighted that there are several upcoming press and familiarization trips where the press, influences, and other advisors will be offered immersive experiences of what VI has to offer.

Virgin Gorda is and will remain the best vacation spot to vacation in the BVI. You live on Virgin Gorda, be proud, you deserve your bragging rights.

I live on Tortola and I visit Virgin Gorda every weekend to get away from the madness, loud noise and everything else in between. You want peace and relaxation, head on over to Virgin Gorda.

It is such a quiet and peaceful environment. They need to ban that one crazy taxi man though and it would be perfect!

When ever I hear this good news about VG. "God bless Mr. Richard B". His Dwelling residence is registered as Virgin Gorda....So, that billionaire will attract the media who will get self traction and benefit just to praises Richard B home...Which is VG.

You’re a liar with that. Tortola is always dirty & smelly, plus some of the people there have no manners. VG is by far the “ best”, let’s keep it that way.

Yes VG is beautiful but the roads are terrible to drive on as a tourist.

Guess they missed Spanish Town! Glad they took the Lear Jet in and took the go fast boat direct to Little Dix!
We need to clean up our act. Real people are going to show up and the social media is going to kill us!
We all know what the problems are. Please pay attention. We must work together to fix these obvious problems!

Guess you are from Tortola. Virgin Gorda was not voted for the listed position because it is perfect or because of "rich residents or leah Jets". In fact there are reasons why these jets and rich residents are attracted to Virgin Gorda in the first place and that is it's natural beauty and it's residence. There maybe issues with the area you mentioned but, the Island is obviously has not recovered from the massive 2017 hurricanes. One blogger also wrote about the condition of the road. These are far better than some places I know and there is no sewage on the road surfaces. There is nothing like waking up in Virgin Gorda to the sound of nature, not the annoying sounds of scooter engines, not loud music and if you choose to go for an early morning walk you sure wouldn't miss that friendly "good morning" from visitors and residents alike. Yes, Virgin Gorda may have its issues but it deserves to be mentioned in the top places to visit in 2023 in Forbes Magazines. My concern is that with so much advertising it would not be overrun by too many visitors. One other thing if Virgin Gorda is not just a "sister island"
