VG Food Fair: Delicious foods, few mouths! [Photo-slide Included]
There were lots more on the menu including tasty bull foot soup, peas soup, curried chicken, dove pork and to drink were maubi, passion fruit, lemonade, blended fruit juice and even coconut water, however, the activity failed to draw much of a crowd.
It was probably a good thing, however, as it was not strictly a food fair as there were many other items on sale including toys and clothing.
Probably the most satisfied persons would have been the sellers and buyers of turtle meat and whelks as although the season is closed, permission had been granted for the sale of turtle meat and dishes throughout the festival.
Vendors, however, have been told not to sell such item after midnight on Monday April 9, 2012 since they could be sanctioned and levied with fines, according to the law.
This was disclosed by Public Relations Officer of the Festival and Fairs Committee Rhodni Skelton from Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communication and Works Ronald Berkeley Smith.
