VG Bayside Blazers present championship trophy to Biras Creek Resort



The Virgin Gorda Bayside Blazers emerged as the undisputed champions, sweeping every game with relentless skill and determination. Their flawless performance culminated in a decisive victory over Tola, securing the coveted championship title and a prize purse of $15,000.00.
It was on Sunday, June 8, 2025, that they presented their championship trophy to their platinum sponsor, Biras Creek Resort, a Virgin Gorda high-end Hotel and Marina located on the Northern End of the island.
We are thankful to Biras Creek-Willock
Making the presentation on behalf of the team, Virgin Gorda Bayside Blazers, was team owner and manager Julian Willock. He presented the trophy to Mr Guillermo Houwer, Owner and General Manager of the Resort.
Mr Willock thanked Mr Houwer for the kind sponsorship of his team and promised to keep “playing hard and winning games”.
To this, Mr Houwer said he was happy to provide support and looks forward to a long-term relationship with the VG Bayside Blazers and supporting sports on Virgin Gorda.
Also on hand last evening for the presentation were Assistant Manager/Assistant Coach Derrick R. Varlack, Head Coach Trevor M. Stevens aka ‘West’, Trainer/Team Advisor Rhennie O. Phipps, original Bayside Blazers Basketball Club Team Secretary Tanika J. Phillips, and Director, Ground Transportation-Sheldon N. Matthew.

While the 2025 Virgin Gorda Bayside Blazers Platinum sponsor was Biras Creek Resort, other making contributions included, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9), MHA, Nanny Cay Marina and Resort, Skelton Group of Companies, Tortola Auto Group (Tag), Oil Nut Bay Resort, Nagico Insurance, Scrub Island Resort, Caribbean Insurance Limited and Omar’s Café.
There were 10 players on the winning roster of the King of the Courts 2025 Championship; they were Shamarr A. George No 14, Stephon S. Caul No 10, Kimani T. Stevens No 13, Randy M. George No 15, Ryan G. Moore No 9, Raheem E. Carter No 27, Tyohn D. Trimble No 6, Austin A. Oltime No 7, Stephano K. Paul No 8 and Ronald E. Delph No 2.
The team Doctor is Harlan O. Vanterpool, and Eustace C. Freeman served as the team’s tournament Secretary and Scorer, with Mashawrio D. Lamont serving as Beverage Support.
