What do Fire personnel when not out on call? At every shift chsnge, the on coming shift should inspect the equipment, ensuring that the truck is filled with water and ready to roll etc. Do ah au damn job. The current Fire Chief need to take care of business, ie, protecting life and property.
More challenging because you now have to find the closest hydrant which it was located at the bus stop still a distance away… it was upon the 2 off duty officer that went and got platinum trucking water truck “breeze”…. Fire men been crying for years that they need a water tender to help back up fire trucks with extra water and eliminate these type of scenario that fire truck goes to fire empty… but no the government tend to play with the ppl and give the minimum when it come to fire suppression fighting … please yall do yall checks and see what it really takes being a fire officer! an I salute to the officers who contain that fire from burning any of the houses in that location all homes was safe and kept.. vehicles that was damage was abandoned vehicles thanks to the officers for saving the garage paint shop in the same said location and the bus also that did not get burn.. that fire was really a big fire and for a under staff less man power they got it under controlled pretty good also to the ppl that actually not stand around and just watch your actions would not go unnoticed…. LONG LOOK WE COME FROM!
Moreover, taking measures to protect life and property is not only the responsibility of government, including inspection and certification agencies, but also residential property/home owners, businesses, public sector managers/supervisors, etc.
