Valerie & Julian - VI’s newest power couple
According to information reaching Virgin Islands News Online from its team of reporters around the VI, businessman and talk show host Julian Gordon and senior Magistrate Valerie Stephens tied the knot on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at a private ceremony at their McNamara home, in Road Town, the VI’s capital city.
The very sophisticated ceremony which started a little after 4 p.m. in front of about 25 friends, family and professional colleagues, saw the couple exchanged wedding vows in a short service officiated by the VI Registrar-General Stephanie Benn, according to Virgin Islands News Online’s sources who witnessed the proceeding.
While the media was not invited nor Paparazzi staked out for photos of the newest power couple, it was reported to be a very happy occasion for both, with many smiles and congratulations. Guests included the Deputy Governor V. Inez Archibald and Dr. J S. Archibald.
Ms. Stephens, the long time senior Magistrate is highly respected on the bench according to the legal fraternity and her new husband is well known in the VI not only as a businessman and former senior manager of Road Town Wholesale, but a co-host of a popular talk show on a local radio station: ‘The Hot Seat’.
It is unclear whether the new couple is off on a honey moon, and when we will hear of an announcement of a name change for Ms. Stephens.
