USVI woman jailed for destroying boyfriend’s TV, dresser & fridge

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- A woman on St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands (USVI), was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections on Sunday January 17, 2016 for destroying her boyfriend’s belongings.

According to (US)VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman, the woman allegedly broke her boyfriend’s room and destroyed a television, dresser, and mini refrigerator.

The suspect, Asiana Thurmond, 19, of Nordsideve was charged with third degree burglary.

No bail was offered in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence laws.

    Young lady needs to learn to love herself first. If she loved herself more then show loved him shoe would not let her emotions get the best of her and commit a crime that make her, her family and her employee in the middle of her personal life.

      Too many women these days do not have any respect for themselves and do not know how to love themselves. Why women disgrace and degrade themselves so? The older women need to set an example or a pattern for the younger ones to follow. Anyway, sometimes it does not make sense to preach to deaf ears.

    back in the day women at 19 had better and more productive things to care about..... but back then the quality of education and standards of the community were much higher.

    She is to young to be in this mess. I agree with the comment above, young ladies love yourself!! Please!! I have seeing this to many time!!! If a man does anything to make you act this way!! Then he is not worth it!! Any man that loves a woman will treat her with respect!!

    Poor young lady .lack of love in the home causes our young ladies to look love else where then turn around get knock about .the thing is she doesn't love her self she loves him and that's why she is so hurt that she had to act in violence .sad sad

      If you love somebody and they did you wrong, the best thing for you to do is walk away!!! The reason she act out like that is because she saw some close to her maybe do it and this is what the world show our young ppl it's ok to do. The world show us that once a man is beating you, treating you bad or making you look like a fool that they love you. It's Sad, I see Soo many of these situationship between the British n Usvi !! And it's very sad!!!!

    She looks so young and innocent, like she cannot hurt a fly. Women, it is time to wake up and realize that this is the generation of people that is mentioned in Matthew 24:12 which says “the love of many shall grow or wax cold”. Some men don’t love anymore; they are just looking for a good time especially if a young lady looks innocent and lack experience. They will use you and live you for Jane or Susan who is a virgin and who may have her head on. It is time to wise up ladies.

    Only the BVI shields perpetrators by not publishing their names. This lady committed a crime, her name, even the street she lives on is published. What do we have to hide by protecting the identity of Criminals? Maybe it is because we are getting more white collar Criminals, so it behooves the elitist honchos to protect their own. If crimes were only being committed by the poor, lowly and dejected they would not have need for this privacy law.
