USVI/BVI Friendship Day activities in STT cancelled

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI– The 51st USVI/BVI Friendship Day activities have been cancelled.

The cancellation is due to unstable weather conditions currently affecting and approaching the two territories.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Dr Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), confirmed the cancellation to our newsroom.

He was supposed to lead the Virgin Islands' (VI) delegation comprising legislators, public officials, and community members to St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) for the 51st USVI/BVI Friendship Day activities, this weekend, October 18 to 19, 2025. 

The event was to be hosted by USVI Governor Albert Bryan Jr. and Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach Esq. under the theme for this year’s celebration is 'Binding Our Ties Through Friendship and Culture'.

Among activities planned were cultural presentations at Emancipation Garden and a luncheon at the Mark C. Morin Center at Antilles School, and the highly anticipated 51st USVI/BVI Friendship Day Basketball Game which was scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025.

    BVI being pushing this event, showing much more interest than the USVI do...USVI lost intetezt a long time ago. They are basically fed up of us.. They only toerating us because we spent 30 million dollars a year buy their good & services.

      That msg you send out there is irelevant
      Pls dont share the negativity instead educate why there's a Friendship day celebration.Many persons who came to our territory does not know about the connection betweenUSVI & BVIi. Kindly use this platform to inform others as much as possible.
