US First Lady Jill T. Biden expected to arrive in USVI today
FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- First Lady Jill T. Biden, who last vacationed in the US Virgin Islands (USVI) late December and spent the new year holiday on St Croix, is expected to arrive on the Big Island, as St Croix is called, sometime today, March 13, 2023, the Consortium has learned from several sources.
Mrs Biden will spend several days on the island, according to the sources, who spoke to the Consortium on the condition of anonymity.
The first lady was in New Orleans on Friday — her first official visit to the city — where she lauded the work of staff at the Louisiana Cancer Research Center," according to The New Orleans Advocate. There, she spoke of President Joe R. Biden's commitment to preventing, detecting and “ending cancer as we know it.”
“Cancer changes everyone it touches, and, in some ways it touches us all,” Mrs Biden said, recalling one of her sister's successful battle with lymphoma. “This community knows that more than most. So many families here in New Orleans have lost loved ones to the disease, and I know that is why you are here and why you do the work you do."
Mrs Biden's agenda, if any aside from vacationing, is unknown. During their last visit in December, the Biden family mostly enjoyed their vacation and steered clear from work-related matters.
