ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- It was a very proud moment for Virgin Islands (VI) tourism recently when American business magnate Stephen Alan "Steve" Wynn chose nature’s little secrets as the place to celebrate his 70th birth anniversary.

Virgin Islands News Online was informed by a reliable source that Mr. Wynn (born January 27, 1942) along with his wife and daughter and 30 of his close friends came on three mega yachts including Wynn’s Aquarius.

The wealthy guests spent three days in the VI where they had a welcoming dinner at Oil Nut Bay Resort and were engaged in a beach barbeque and were also entertained by a number of local entertainers.

Wynn, according to Wikipedia, played a pivotal role in the 1990s resurgence and expansion of the Las Vegas Strip. His companies refurbished or built what are now widely recognized resorts in Las Vegas, including the Golden Nugget, The Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Wynn and Encore.

As of 2011, Wynn is the 512th richest man in the world with a net worth of $2.3 billion (up from $1.5 billion). In May 2006, Time Magazine included Wynn as one of the World's 100 Most Influential People.

Meanwhile, the source who was close to the wealthy guests, told Virgin Islands News Online that Wynn was “seriously considering buying a home in the Virgin Islands”.

One of Wynn’s friends on the vacation was Larry Ruvo, who is the VP/GM of Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada, which is regarded as one of the largest wine and spirits distributor in the United States. He is a wine expert and Philanthropist.

To further illuminate the occasion were spectacular fireworks by Fireworks by Grucci, which has produced fireworks displays for various United States and international events, including seven consecutive U.S. Presidential inaugurations beginning with Ronald Reagan; Statue of Liberty Centennial (1986); Olympic Games in Lake Placid, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City; World's Fairs in Knoxville, Tennessee, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Taejon, Korea.

The company has also done displays in Florida and Hawaii and proud to say...the Virgin Islands!

More rich people like that also potentially means more inflated prices for land.
