We do NOT know whether the vehicle had a mechanical issue and malfunctioned whereby it accelerated suddenly.

Sudden unintended acceleration (SUA) occurs when a vehicle suddenly begins to accelerate in speed without a driver's control. SUA happens when an electronic malfunction occurs inside of the vehicle, causing the throttle to expand and the vehicle to accelerate without the driver's intervention.

My condolences to the family and loved ones.

YAY THINK SO? Ok. WE SHALL SEE IF IT WAS ACTUALLY SUA OR PLAIN OUT STUPIDITY ON THE DRIVERS PART.

Where is this fence the driver burst through located. The only place for speeding is the high way and there is no fence between the high way and One Mart.. If the driver were speeding on any other road it's plain careless and crazy and must bare serious consequences.

The driver didn’t burst through no damn fence. If the vehicle had burst through a fence, it would have been heard and the fence would have slow the vehicle down a bit. That vehicle hit that lady full force.

mr commissioner very mindful the police can't be all over but some how you see police mostly after an incident

when the traffic violators know that police is out they will seek slow down when using public roads

When the movers of contraband know law enforcement is on the move they might think twice

my goodness our territory is less than 30 squares miles and the level of lawlessness is mind blowing

The fellows on the bikes wheeling day and night on public road ways and apparently there is no enforcement

for Jesus sake get your facts straight before you blog. The driver was an elderly lady ...
she was also in shock .... has nothing to do with police.

You mentioned an elderly lady was the driver of the death vehicle, take this anyway you like, after you get to be a certain age and you are elderly, your driving privileges should be suspended like they do in many places outside of the BVI. After a close call with an elderly man driving up elevator hill, I try to avoid elderly drivers on the road. I’m driving behind this man up the hill then all of a sudden his vehicle stop and started rolling backwards like he shift from drive to reverse. He must have caught himself and the vehicle stopped. Just saying suppose his vehicle had run into my vehicle sending us both over the side of the hill. My mom is 75 and she is no longer allowed to get behind the wheel.

Oh, my goodness!! Do you really know what happened to cause the accident? We are only making assumptions without really knowing what happened! What if her gas pedal really did get stuck and she had no control over the vehicle? As far as I heard the lady was just leaving work when the unfortunate incident happened. I find it hard to believe that she just saw the lady there and mow her down. My condolences to the family of the lady that passed. I also feel sorry for the lady who was a part of this because as I heard she ended up in the hospital as well. I am sure she is wishing she can change what happened. We are all drivers and if indeed this was an accident, it can happen to anyone of us. Unfortunate situation all around.

Hardly see police at all these busy businesses and location. Every now and then you will glimpse a police Jeep driving by, but no real presents of foot patrol. I can imagine the high Gas bill the police accumulate monthly because vehicle patrol seems to be the new way..

I am going to reserve what I was about say due to the fact that you will not understand out of a lack of basic common sense which you don’t have. If that is the case, someone have the blood of a innocent woman minding her business and mowed down by a vehicle.

My sincerest condolences to the family, very unfortunate. Here in the BVI is a lawless place, no Police presence out on the road giving speeding tickets. The craziness I encounter every day on the road with these reckless drivers and still no Police in sight until someone gets crashed into. Mr. Commissioner please do your job to protect the safety of all residents and dispatch your Officers out on the road especially during the holiday season. Your Officers should be out on the road not in an office sitting waiting to be called. PLEASE DO SOMETHING

Oh man. This is so sad..you know as others have said we have to pray God’s Protection over our lives always. Before leaving home, returning and Giving Him Abundant Thanks Always. Poor Bren. Lord I pray Your Comfort for her family and friends. I just want to take this opportunity to remind persons that if you’re not in God please accept Jesus as your Saviour. We don’t know where death is; we don’t know when He’ll Return. Plz seek Him while He can still be found. Plz I beg you. It’s Not His Will for any to perish. If we are not in God we are open season for the enemy..again I beg you; if you don’t know Jesus seek Him now. The next moment isn’t promised mayless Tomorrow .

@Ghost this is the best comment here. Some people just talk all sorts of nonsense and forget that if it were them that had hit that lady how they would be feeling right now. With every death our cry should be, Lord, I surrender my life to you, I depart from my sins and accept you as Christ my Saviour. Time is short and we don't know when our time will come. Every day should be spent making things right with each other instead of fighting over land, trying to bring each other down on jobs, etc, etc. I have never seen anyone lying in their coffin with their money, houses, or lands. It is time for us to take stock of our lives because we are not here on earth forever, we are just passing through. When all is said and done only what is done for Christ will last.

My condolences to this lady's family at this time. Also all the best to the lady that was driving. I can just imagine what she may be going through at this time. It could have happened to any of us. We don't even know what this day will bring. Everyone concerned with this situation is hurting. Pray for both families.

Jesus is coming soon. Let us be ready.

@ sad ending.. Thank you, but God be Praised. You are right with all you’ve said.. we must keep praying for the Lost that God Will Draw them to Him and Help us to be Fishers of men . You know I always say that the hardest 2 Things God Ask us to do is Loving Him Most and each other. We don’t do a good job of them at all.

Is that the vehicle that killed the lady? A Rental? or was the vehicle that killed the lady already removed before this photo was taken? This is crazy, having to run through that wall, actually dragging a lot of it with you... how ? Every vehicle has a brake. . . This is not adding up at all.

I don’t give a rats tail who you are related to, that lady didn’t deserve that. The person had to be speeding to slam into the lady like that. Then they here talking about the car run through fence. That is BS.

We are loyal customers and have been buying every night since they’ve open that place
Thank God things happened that night and we couldn’t go

The food van lady does have her little kid right there plus ppl standing waiting to order and or sitting down
This is very unfortunate what happened and I can only imagine how traumatizing this is for all who was there at the time as well as the victim’s relatives and friends

I ask everyone here to pray for these families keep them them in your prayers and thoughts
This could’ve happened to anyone any place anytime
    live good ppl
    Love one another
    Forgive quickly
Do not hold ppl in your mind if someone wronged you leave them up to God
Don’t push hate and animosity towards no one
    Stop fighting for material things
Ppl does dead and leave these things behind
Every single thing we do we will account for it and we will pay for it
Do good and is that will follow u
Do bad and that will be multiplied by the thousands unto u

    I always tell
Ppl health and mercy thats all you should fight for on this life
We are merely pilgrims passing through this earth yet ppl think they can live forever
We would all love to live our full 100 plus years
But that’s not how it goes only God knows the hour for each of us

I pray for all and may God bless our nation
