SAN JOSE, Costa Rica- The Virgin Islands completed their campaign in Group B at the CONCACAF U17 Men’s Qualifiers in Costa Rica with a draw against Guyana at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, San Jose, Costa Rica on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

The ‘Nature Boys’ seemed to be bowing out with a 0-1 loss to the Golden Jaguars when Luca Stuttard scored a magnificent volley from the top of the 18-yard box in the 90+1 minutes of the game.

The VI’s top scorer, Stuttard, received the ball from a poor clearance after the VI had hit the far post from the right wing and skilfully flicked the ball up to volley home the equaliser for this third goal of the tournament.

Jaden Harris had opened the scoring for Guyana in the 53rd minute.

The VI finished 4th in Group B, ahead of St Maarten.

It's interesting to see the VI U17 team secure a draw against Guyana in the CONCACAF qualifiers. While finishing 4th in Group B isn't the top spot, a draw against a team like Guyana shows some real progress and fighting spirit. I'm curious about the specific performance of the VI players; were there any standout moments or a particular player who really stepped up in that match? It's always inspiring to see smaller nations competing on the international stage, and a result like this, even if not a win, is a positive step forward. It makes me think about the dedication it takes for these young athletes to even reach this level of competition.

It's interesting to see the VI U17 team secure a draw against Guyana, especially considering it finishes them in 4th place in Group B. While a win would have been ideal, a draw shows resilience and an ability to compete at this level. I wonder what the team's overall performance was like across the qualifiers and if this result signals progress for the program. It's always a tough road in CONCACAF youth tournaments, and any point gained is valuable for development and experience.

The draw against Guyana, finishing 4th in Group B, is a respectable outcome for the VI U17 team in the CONCACAF qualifiers. While not advancing, securing a point in a competitive group shows progress. I remember following some of the earlier qualifiers, and the team has definitely shown more resilience and organization. It would be interesting to see what the long-term development plan is for these young players coming out of the Virgin Islands, as consistent participation and investment are key to building a stronger national program.

It's great to see the VI U17 team holding their own against Guyana to secure a 1-1 draw, especially to finish fourth in Group B. Qualifying tournaments are always tough, and every point earned is a testament to the players' dedication and the program's development. It makes me wonder about the tactical approach that led to this result – was it a strong defensive effort that frustrated Guyana, or did the VI team create significant scoring opportunities? It's encouraging to see the Virgin Islands competing at this level.

It's interesting to see the VI U17 team finish 4th in Group B after that 1-1 draw with Guyana. While a win would have been ideal to climb higher, a draw against a team like Guyana shows some real progress. I remember following some of the earlier qualifier matches, and there seemed to be a lot of tough competition. It's definitely a step in the right direction for youth development in the territory. Hopefully, this experience fuels them for future tournaments and provides valuable lessons learned on the pitch.
