VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI – In a move to have an uncompromised attendance to last night’s launching of Tortola’s 60th Anniversary Emancipation Festival, the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival Committee took a conscious decision to put off the unveiling of contestants for the Miss Gorgeous and Miss Easter Festival.

They would be presenting seven (7) women to the public tonight March 23, 2014 at the Rock Café. There will be four contestants for the Miss Gorgeous and three for the Miss Easter Festival pageants.

According to VGEFC Public Relations Officer Mr Jerrell A. George in like manner the presence of some key stakeholders at the first introduction of the contestants is also important hence the switch of dates from March 22, 2014 to March 23, 2014.

He said that persons attending the occasion tonight can come prepared for a night full of excitement including live karaoke and music by popular DeeJays.

-Miss Gorgeous & Easter Festival VG to make public debut

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI – As the date draws closer to the staging of the annual Virgin Gorda Easter Festival, the committee members have put on their running shoes leaving the heels behind to ensure that they cover the necessary ground.

This Saturday March 22, 2014 they would be at the juncture where they would be presenting seven (7) women to the public. They are the contestants for the annual Miss Gorgeous and Miss Easter Festival pageants.

The pageant committee along with the general committee has come up with the idea of having the launch in a different way as opposed to the traditional fashion. The occasion is called the ‘Grown and Sexy Pisces Edition’. “Everyone has been calling for something new, for us to try something different and that’s how we came up with this concept,” said the VGFC Public Relations Officer Mr Jerrell A. George.

According to Mr George there would be four (4) women to contest in the Miss Gorgeous while there will be three (3) for the Miss Easter Festival pageant. “The women are eager to be introduced; they have been asking when and so we are going to give them an introduction of class,” said Mr George.

This event is set for Club Ecstasy commencing at 10:00pm. “Action Kicks off at 10 pm with musical entertainment by DJ Bertrum and musical duo Ah Milli Sounds! Ladies call your girls! Fellas call your boys! It’s going be a night to remember! You must be 21 and older to party! Grown and sexy dress code in effect! Security queen’s court style! VIP booths are available,” the committee said in a press release.

“The Virgin Gorda Easter Festival Committee is a group of volunteers working together with a common goal of planning and promoting the annual Easter Festival on Virgin Gorda,” states the release.

This sounds like a fun evening. I really wish I could attend. If only there were 2 of me. That same evening is the VIF&FC launch of the 60th emancipation celebration with a block party in Road Town. That promises to be great fun too. Oh well..

with a name like that you wonder why young girls are getting raped and abused. But you never hear of a competition like smart and clever. I am sick and tired of promoting women as objects to look at instead of abilities.
