ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The driver who was taken to Peebles Hospital following Friday night’s October 17, 2014 accident at Pasea, Tortola told this news site that his vehicle was hit from behind and as a result he lost control.

“Somebody hit me from the back and my vehicle swing,” said the driver of one of the vehicles. He further alleged that the taxi that hit him from behind continued driving without stopping to render assistance as required by law.

“I had on my seatbelt so I wasn’t really hurt. But when the vehicle hit me I swerve off the road,” said the man, who had been taken by ambulance to the Peebles Hospital from the scene of the accident.

“When the person hit me they drive off,” he said. The driver has requested the witholding of his name which we have.

This news site today October 21, 2014 made contact with Public Relations Officer of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Diane Drayton from whom we requested an update on the investigations. However, up to post time the update was not forthcoming.
