LONDON, United Kingdom- The number of resignations from ministers in the Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson’s United Kingdom (UK) government now stands at 30 and there is no sign of let-up.

The under-fire leader, nevertheless, vowed to continue this morning, July 6, 2022, during a brutal Prime Minister’s Questions session in the UK parliament, which included his erstwhile Health Secretary Sajid David calling on more members of his cabinet to take action against the PM.

The previous highest number of resignations within 24 hours was 11 back in 1932, according to the Telegraph.

Many politicians and most political analysts now agree that it is only a matter of time before Johnson is toppled following a string of scandals and widespread disapproval of his lax standards.

Domino effect of top Cabinet Ministers’ resignations

On Tuesday two top cabinet ministers resigned in protest at his handling of allegations of misconduct against a prominent Conservative Party lawmaker.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid posted resignation letters within minutes of one another.

The resignations of Javid and Sunak are particularly significant because both ministers have remained loyal to Johnson throughout the different scandals, including the damaging Partygate affair, when Downing Street held multiple parties during the Covid lockdown. The UK is also in the middle of a cost of living crisis due to record inflation and ongoing fallout from the pandemic and Brexit.

Although the majority have not resigned, the BBC reported it has been told a group of cabinet ministers are expected to tell the prime minister to resign, including the chief whip.

Senior UK Ministers quit over Boris Johnson's controversial leadership

Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid have quit Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson's cabinet, piling pressure on the embattled Prime Minister.

Sunak said the public expects "government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously."

Labour leader backs early election

Health Secretary Javid told the PM he can "no longer, in good conscience, continue serving in this government.

Both men quit today, July 5, 2022, after Johnson apologised for appointing a Tory MP to his government who had faced allegations of sexual misconduct.

Labour leader Sir Keir R. Starmer said it's "clear the government is now collapsing" and added that he would back an early election.

MPs want to oust Johnson

The PM won a vote of confidence in his leadership last month though faced a big rebellion.

He is protected from a further vote for a year - but some MPs have called for the rules to be changed to oust him.

Ministers there resign long before they are caught for money laundering, drug smuggling and racketeering - Boris will also resign long before he is ever charged for any serious crimes

The UK has checks and balances. Ministers have resigned as they do not support Boris and a small percentage of his undertakings. Did we see BVI Ministers resign as they didn’t like what our former Premier was up to. No exactly the opposite they wanted some of the same! Boris has done an excellent job under difficult circumstances but some of his actions, no where near the scale of those here, are not right. This is the correct way.
Also, just because Boris will go, the UK remains very strong!

and here we still call our Ex leader the Hon. Fahie even when he accepted the bait and showed clear and complete intent to use his position for serious criminal activities.
whybis Boris haveing a drink during lockdown with his cabinate members or not knowing that one of his members had alegedly groped someone such breaking news that it should end HIS carear...yet we still try and protect our own ex leader...even when he so blatently had intent to perpitrate a number of criminal activities and indeed fessed up to having done so many times before.
          get real people.

The UK colonizers stole these islands from the indigenous Amerindians whom they met here. They brought in African slaves to work the land and later give the said labds to them. They should be charged for theft. We are now in possession of stolen property to wit the fifty or so islands that makeup the British Virgin Islands. About the news at hand, what is happening in the UK happens all the the time in Governments world wide. It shows democracy at work. At least no one has been arrested for drugs....at least not yet

What does rankin and collins have to say about this? Let me take a wild guess, they support the PM and the government of the UK for its good governance and integrity. Why don’t rankin and Collin show some honor and resign like those who have integrity and quit the government of the UK. I forget they have none and are liars.
