TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI- Travellers have been advised of the resumption of operations at the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport.

Operations resumed this morning, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 8:30 AM, following an early closure on Friday, August 15, 2025, due to possible weather implications from Hurricane Erin.

The BVI Airports Authority (BVIAA) in a bulletin said while the airport is operational, individual airline carriers will determine their own flight schedules and services at their discretion, given the ongoing presence of Hurricane Erin in the region.

Contact respective airlines

Travellers are strongly encouraged to contact their respective airlines directly for the most up-to-date information regarding flight status, cancellations, or rescheduling.

“The safety and well-being of all passengers and airport personnel remain the Authority’s highest priority. The Authority will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and will provide further updates as necessary,” the BVIAA said.

Y'all ain't asking the right questions. Where is M*nal? Is he on island? If no where and why? Where is his sidekick Cu**ings? Who is running the airport? Not the first time BVIslanders left to hold the fort while leadership is off on a jaunt.

It's understandable to feel frustrated when a press release is issued with a specific time, only for plans to change based on unexpected circumstances. Many individuals were likely counting on the airline staff and their own teams to navigate a challenging situation like a looming flash flood warning. It's important to recognize that in such circumstances, the safety and well-being of everyone involved come first. It appears that many airlines are struggling to establish a clear schedule for operations, which adds to the uncertainty. Compassion and patience are needed as we all navigate these unpredictable challenges together.

The government has to be ashamed of allowing this to happen. Mr Manel, were are you and you're ill-informed operation team.
