UPDATE: Tammi David cops best Talent in Miss BBW Pageant
Tammi said she was surprised that she did not win considering the level of crowd support that she had received but was happy to have participated. She performed Singing Sandra’s ‘Pride and Dignity’ which she described as having a strong message. “I really delivered the song and came away with the Best Talent,” she disclosed.
The pageant was won by miss Florida, Sharon Troupe, who also walked away with the Best Lingerie and Best Evening Prizes as well as the prize for most revenue generated. The First and Second Runner-up positions were also captured by two local contestants.
Though she stated that the pageant did not go as expected, Tammi expressed that she still enjoyed participating and was able to accomplish what she wanted to.
“It was good, I had fun and I enjoyed it. I got to do what I loved best, which was marketing the BVI. I got to talk to a lot of people about the BVI,” she said.
She also saw it as a different kind of experience from previous pageants that she had entered. “I didn’t come back with the crown but came back still fired up,” she added.
The lone Caribbean contestant in the pageant, Tammi offered thanks to Hazem’s Beauty Supplies, Hon. Myron V. Walwyn, Hon. Alvera Maduro-Caines, The BVI Tourist Board, Tortola Memorial Services, Ryan Robinson (close friend and chaperone), other friends, supporters and well-wishers.
Tammi disclosed that she also has other pageants lined up but will confirm her participation at a later time.
